Stella

Rescue Date: 8/23/13
Status: ADOPTED

Stella was known at the shelter as “Miss Bumbles”. She came in as a stray after being found in a ditch on a rainy night. As a blind senior at a noisy shelter Miss Bumbles was very much terrified. One of our fellow shelter volunteers, Jason, was able to get a great video of her, which was key to our networking efforts. The pictures of Miss Bumbles at the shelter didn’t do her justice but the video really showed off her sweet face and loving personality.

After several days of us networking her, the kind folks at First Coast Beagle Rescue opened up their hearts to Miss Bumbles. One of their foster families offered to take her in (foster homes are so important to rescue work!). So we paid her shelter fees, loaded her up in the car and headed south to Jacksonville. We knew as soon as we met her foster family she was in good hands. Along with a new home she got a beautiful new name: Stella. Thank you First Coast Beagle Rescue!

Update (1/2/14)

We just found out that Stella’s foster family decided they can’t imagine life without her and have since become her forever family. We are so incredibly happy for Stella and her parents! To go from scared and confused in a ditch to wrapped up in the loving arms of her new mom – wow! (Have we mentioned how much we love people who love old dogs?!) Thank you Krissy and George for giving this girl the happily ever after she deserves!

Here she is on her way to Jacksonville after leaving the shelter:
